Deja Vu Photography

While going through my photos to find those pictures for my graduation post, I came across another portrait that I wanted to share. This is one of my sister's two daughters, which I took during a long photo session in 1994:

Modern portrait of two girls in white lacey dresses, arms around each other, on white background

Around 1998, I started to collect late Victorian photo albums. (Regretably, I had to sell them later on when finances were tight.) I had one leather album that appeared to be a photographer's sample album. It was filled with his children's portraits. They all seemed to be from 1870-1895. I stopped cold when I turned the page to see this one:

1890s portrait of two little girls in pretty dresses, posed just like the modern portrait

Wow, eerie.

Okay, okay, I can see that it might be a common pose, but still...I say it is spooky!

What cute little girls your neices were...what a lovely picture of them. I can't believe how many "things" you are so good at! Photography, writing, creating beautiful art...on and on we go:)

My, I had goosebumps while reading your post. But does that mean anything? I hope it doesn’t mean anything bad or something. I’m kind of optimistic so I’m thinking that your lineage must be related to some royal families that existed some time during the Victorian age.
