I Just Want My Data!

Friday, I ordered a nice drive enclosure (with a fan!) that I can put an internal hard drive into while my computer is being fixed. That way, I can backup the system drive before I ship it off and I can access the data drive while the computer is being fixed. However, the enclosure won't arrive until Tuesday and I need to backup the system right away, so I bought a cheap drive enclosure this weekend as a stop-gap.

Trouble is, it doesn't work. Of course.

When I try to access a drive that's mounted in the enclosure, I keep getting "write delay errors" and warnings that I've lost data. That's BAD! I'm desperately hoping that no data was really lost, that it just can't read it properly. In any event, I need to wait for the better drive enclosure to arrive tomorrow before I can backup my system drive and send my computer for repair. If I don't get this shipped by Wednesday, they won't get the computer until next week.

Okay, so now I get to worry about whether or not I've lost my precious data, in addition to the do-I-have-cancer-again worry. Did I piss someone off?
