If I Could Just Stay Awake
They told me radiation would make me tired. What I didn't expect is that I would just fall over asleep by 3 p.m. every day, and stay asleep for two hours! I have great ideas in my head about what I'd like to get done around the house but...well, nothin's happening, that's for sure!
The good thing is that this is very different from chemo fatigue. That fatigue (at least for me) was accompanied by the feeling that something was horribly wrong with my body. It was much more intense. At the same time, outside of the first two days after an infusion, I didn't sleep that much. I just couldn't lift myself off the couch. Totally different thing.
Personally, I think cancer treatment is just a form of torture for Can Do action figures like me. It must be a test to see if I can survive checking off 25% or less from my daily To Do list. Maybe the Buddhists came up with this! All that be vs. do stuff...silly people!
